Volunteer

Kids Konnected appreciates those that can help us out by donating their time and talents.  We have several volunteer opportunities – find one that fits your interests and schedule.  If you see one you like, let us know!

 

Event Help:
Donate your time to one of our annual events; Golf Tournament in April and Gala Fundraiser Fundraiser in October.  You can be part of the planning committee or day-of event volunteer.  Contact Erin to get involved at kkcares@kidskonnected.org.

 

Office Help:
Have a knack for computers, copy machines, and answering phones?  If you answered yes we would love to have you join us in the office.  Volunteering in the office is a great help to Kids Konnected and allows you to helps children and families nation wide.  Contact the Kids Konnected office at 800-899-2866 to see how you can help!

 

Community Service Hours:

Kids Konnected is happy to have students complete their community service hours through us.  We typically have our student volunteers work on our Teddy Bear Packages, prepping Hope the Bear for shipment, decorating boxes, and prepping cancer resource materials.  Contact the Kids Konnected office at 800-899-2866 to get started!

 

Helping From Your Home:

Just because you can not make it down to the office doesn’t mean we can’t use your talents!  Here are a few examples of easy ways to help Kids Konnected!

  • Stamp drive!  Collect stamps at your school work place, and from your neighbors to help Kids Konnected send out teddy bears, books, and important information to children and teens scores the country.
  • Coin Kids Konnected!  Set up a coin drive at your school, work place, or even at your local coffee house to benefit Kids Konnected.  Just think, if 50 people collected $100 worth of coins we can send out 200 Hope the Bear Cancer Resource Packages or send 20 kids to camp.

At Kids Konnected, we know that cancer affects the entire family. Each of your children will experience your diagnosis in a different way and with different feelings. Cancer is not an easy subject to talk about and many parents try to avoid the topic in fear that they will scare their children. At Kids Konnected, our approach is to provide a supportive environment to the children so that they can share their feelings alongside other children going through the same thing. When a cancer touches a parent you know, it can be challenging to know what you can do to help. At Kids Konnected, we provide support, education, community and understanding to children who have a parent with cancer or have a parent that has died from cancer. We provide custom care packages for the children, resources, support groups, bereavement workshops, summer camps and special events.
